Arvandor is a mysterious deity with a connection to the Moon and the telescope that Cassini Tir'ithil possesses.

Arvandor was first spoken of, when Cassini peered at the moon through his telescope, special lenses, which summoned a number of ghosts. They attempted to kill the elf, naming him unworthy and mentioning the name Arvandor. The next connection was the damaged book, Cassini found in the University of Dragomir, which was titled "The Twins - Sehanine and Arvandor", implying a familiar relation between the two.

Things would become clearer, when the party was sailing to Skalenvru. On the deck of the ship, Cassini was visited by something assuming the form of his teacher, which told him that Sehanine and Arvandor were fused, something done to save Arvandor's life, but they now needed to be separated. They would need all four of the telescopes which would then be brought to the Orrery, shown to Cassini in a previous vision. If they failed to do so, the moon would crumble, causing mass destruction.

A few days later, Cassini would once more observe the moon, and see the faces of the two gods, who implored him to help, transforming his eye so that they could gaze through it.
