Description

Simona Valova is a former knight and member of the Knyazshtit. Following her betrayal at the hands of the king, she has become an operative of the Independent Cities Movement set on killing the man who betrayed her.

Appearance

Simona is a tall and powerfully built woman with short brown hair. Her face bares a number of scars from her years of fighting and she is usually seen wearing her dark suit of plate armour and helmet that hides her face.

After her tiefling transformation, she has six horns protruding from her head, with the front two being larger than the rest.

Personality

Simona is a driven person, obsessed with her revenge. She was always seen as a capable warrior, doing her best to help the kingdom, but following the betrayal she suffered at the hands of the king she has lived for revenged, willing to do anything to get her hands on him and end his life.

Biography

Early Life

Not much is known about Simona's early life. She rose to prominence as a knight, eventually becoming a Knyazshtit. By her own assessment, she was easily amongst the strongest of their ranks, being tasked with some of the most dangerous missions. She was sent north to negotiate a treaty with some of the Hill and Fire giant tribes, which were causing problems. The official story is that when she arrived the Fire giants, lead by Brandor Blazeblood, obliterated both her and the Hill giants, despite them being the ones seeking peace. There was, however, more to the tale.

In reality the peace talks were a lie. The then leader of the fire giants, Brandor Blazeblood, had come to an agreement with the king, peace in exchange for Simona's own life. A few years prior, Simona had been sent quell an insurrection by the same fire giant tribe and had done so successfully, killing their then leader at the time - Damnar Inferocaller. Brandor Blazeblood took over as leader and made the deal with the King to get revenge for his clan. Once Simona was in his trap, Brandor smashed her face in and threw her a quarter mile away assuming it would kill her.

By some miracle Simona survived, and was found by Blazh who nursed her back to health and brought her into the fold of the I.C.M.

Current

Simona first met the party outside ofKonkraimor after they defeated the Timorans on the road to Konskirav. Their next encounter was in the Oniroden Clan warehouse in Konskirav, where Blazh and Simona were being held prisoner, by agents of the Queen of Air and Darkness. After being rescued by the party and Blazh bing handed to the Sila, Simona escaped with the help of Valeyo, using Otto's helmet to disguise herself. She later made a deal with Glasya in order to rescue Blazh, before taking him to Stendolin.

The group next encountered her in Stendolin, where she was hiding while Blazh was recovering from his injuries, sustained at the hand of the Sila's torturers. The party told her to lay low and begin spreading doubt about the Emisar's leadership around the town, while they investigated further. Following the fall of the temple's tower and the death of the Emisar, she instigated the demonstrations asking for the right to vote on Stendolin's leader. Unbeknownst to her, a deal regarding that had already been worked out between the party and Parvan Stanov. The group saw her once more, before they departed for the I.C.M's leadership meeting, on the way toOtusta.

A month later, while making contact with the Baron of the Deep, Shiek and Sapphira saw Simona alone at a tavern table. When they approached her, she was reluctant to share her reasons for being there, namely, the assassination of Emisar Niva Kavka. They would later meet again, when the party cornered her with the help of the Baron and forced her to reveal her plans. After a short scuffle and many arguments from the likes of Valeyo, Simona was convinced to abandon her assassination plans. She revealed that her reasons for attempting it, had to do less with the mission of the I.C.M and more with that of Glasya, whose agents had ordered the Emisar's death in hope to destabilize the Kingdom of Dragomir further. They had also made threats towards Simona's sister Raynar.

Relationships

Blazh

Simona and Blazh are close friends. Blazh was the person to rescue her, when she laid broken and near death, following King Dragomir's betrayal. He brought her into the ICM, as she wanted revenge against the King more than anything. They did work for the organization as a pair and Simona went, as far as, to make a deal with a devil to rescue him.
