General

Novograd is a town in northern Dragomir and the seat of power of House Novosel and the Yuzhen Clan. Constructed on the shores of a lake Zernovnica it is only permanent settlement in the horse clans, due to the Yuzhen's particular relationship with the crown. It is the birthplace of Milivoj Novosel.

Description

Klenovika

The seat of the Novosel family, this motte and bailey castle sits on a man made hill. Initally a simple fort, the second Khert of Novograd, Vanja, began construction of earthworks which eventually developed into a motte and bailey by the time of Velimir, third Khert of Novograd. As the only large hill for miles, Klenovika serves as an excellent vantage point over the surrounding steppe and houses the garrison and outriders protecting Novograd.

History

Early History

For some time before the conquest of the horse tribes, the site on which Novograd sits was in use by the Yuzhen as a communal spot on which the clans would meet. Following the annexation of the horse tribe lands and the end of the Unification Wars, Novograd was formally founded as the capital of the Yuzhen and the Khertson of Novograd was created by royal decree and granted to house Novosel.
