Biography
Early life
Maldor was born together with his twin brother Taful. At some point the two of them started their arcane studies and became wizards, joining the Conclave together, where they focused their research on teleportation magic. Eventually they were exiled, for their studies in large-scale transplanar teleportation, which was proving unstable and could be disastrous when applied to people or settlements. The two brothers went their separate ways, with Maldor taking the name Faldir and opening up a magic shop in Isoks.
Meeting the Order
Maldor's quiet life as Faldir would come to and end, when he got word of duergar wizard, looking for an old tome on Planar Teleportation. Recognizing that it is likely his brother, he put a notice in the local taverns, looking for a group that could acquire the tome for him first. This lead to him meeting the group that would later become the Order. After giving them directions to where the caravan transporting the book was, they returned empty-handed. Their story described how upon finding the book, a duergar man teleported in, grabbed the book and teleported out, before they could catch him. Maldor understood that his brother had to be stopped and revealed his true nature to the group, together with him and his brother's story.
Desperate, he asked the group to come with him to Colchester, where they could seek help from the Conclave in stopping his brother. He warned them, that he would likely not be welcome and would be detained, so it would fall to them to stop Taful and they agreed. Upon arrival in Colchester he was taken prisoner by the Guild Head Magi Ardrelle. There he heard stories of the portals opening throughout the continent.
He spend his time as a prisoner in the Mage's Guild, until he was later freed by the Order, who let him know that his brother had been under the charm of a Rakshasa and was not in control of his actions. Soon after, he met up with his brother and the two disappeared.
