Description

Taful, is a duergar wizard, expert on teleportation and twin brother of Maldor. While under the control of the Rakshasa Lex, he caused the Portal Incident.

Appearance

Taful is a middle aged duergar man, who is slightly shorter than his twin brother. He wears wizard's robes, but often rolls his sleeves up. Due to his teleportation experiments, Taful looks slightly compressed in the vertical axis of his body.

Personality

Taful is a much more extreme man than his brother. He was often the one pushing for the research him and his brother did and was angry at the Conclave following their exile. This attitude of his, made it easier for Lex to charm him and force him to work for him. After being freed from the charm, he regretted his actions and sought to leave.

Biography

Early life

Taful was born together with his twin brother Maldor. At some point the two of them started their arcane studies and became wizards, joining the Conclave together, where they focused their research on teleportation magic. Eventually they were exiled, for their studies in large-scale transplanar teleportation, which was proving unstable and could be disastrous when applied to people or settlements. The two brothers went their separate ways, with Taful travelling around and continuing his research. At some point he met Lex, who magically charmed him and used his knowledge to find a way of connecting the Material Plane and the Deadlands.

Meeting the Order

Taful finally managed to track down an old tome on teleportation, which could lead him to a breakthrough. He managed to steal it from under the noses of the Order, who had been hired by his brother. Soon after he found a way to achieve Lex's goal of reaching the Deadlands. He travelled to Templeton, where he used the of Temerian Pyramid to channel his magic and breach the boundary between the planes, causing dragons and other monsters to enter the Material.

He was soon faced with the Order once more, this time being captured and brought back to the Conclave's prison. There the enchantment on him was undone and he shared what he knew with the Order. He was later freed, together with his brother by the Order, when they discovered Magi Ardrelle's involvement with Lex's plan. Afterwards, he disappeared together with his brother.
