Description

Vincent Atanasoff, is a inventor and a member of the Atanasoff family. His breakthroughs in the field of artifice, particularly concert with the use of Sky Stone have made him a person of interest across the continent of Ikoval and the target of multiple organizations.

Appearance

Vincent is a middle aged human man

Personality

Vincent is a mild mannered man, obsessed with his research. His kind and good nature, results in his aiming to create tools and substances, which can improve people's lives. He has trouble in social settings and has a tendency of hyper-fixating on his work and goals. Unfortunately, he often ends up failing to spot the unintended uses of his inventions. His failed early attempts at creating a battery for magical energy, inadvertently created the most advanced explosive device ever seen, a fact he almost entirely overlooked due to it not having been his goal. He has also show himself to be somewhat naive, being tricked by Thalia into helping the I.C.M for months.

A man of science, Vincent is a genius in his field and one of the brightest minds on the Material plane. He does however have superstitions tendencies, such as the hatred for dragons developed after years of Dragomir propaganda.

Biography

Early Life

Vincent was born the second child of Mr. Atanasoff. His quiet and introverted personality, in stark contrast to that of his older brother, meant that he was often being pushed around and had a hard time getting his way at home. Being the only child to be born human, further isolated him from his siblings. A favoured figure growing up, was his grandfather, whose research into the uses of Sky Stone would inspire Vincent to pursue an academic career and sparked his obsession with the substance.

University and Beyond

By all accounts, Vincent excelled at university. His live in Dragomir was spent furthering his research under the guidance of Prof Krissa, who acknowledged him as her brightest student. After he graduated he continued his studies with his grandfather's help. While working of his first prototype battery, he created the Lightning in a Bottle, which went unstable and caused a big explosion. He survived and moved north to Rekasev, though after the explosion he was presumed dead by the faculty at the University of Dragomir. A short time prior to the events of the campaign, he would be visited by one Mikaela (Thalia under an assumed name). She would befriend the inventor and eventually come to reside in his manor. From there she used his research to help the I.C.M and even got him to tutor Ignacy.

Current

Vincent was visited, by the party who had deduced his location from a letter found in Professor Berkinsail's house. After explaining the truth of Thalia to him, the ended up saving his life from the Dragotaina and helped him travel back to his family home in Stendolin. Vincent was not thrilled to be back in the company of his brother Ruben, but suffered through it and before the party departed, relocated to the Town Mansion to live with his sister and her husband.

Relationships

Ruben

Vincent clearly feels awkward around his older brother, whose personality appears to be the exact opposite of his. It is not know what transpired in their childhood to make Vincent so reluctant to his brother's company, but Ruben himself seems to have no issues with his brother.

Diane

Vincent and Diane seem to get along well, a far cry from his dislike of Ruben. He seems comfortable in her company, even electing to move in with her and Tomo over remaining at their family home.

Inventions

Vincent has been integral in the creation of various Sky Stone based implements
