Description

Janske is a dealer of exotic creatures, based in Skalenvru. His business involves to capture and sale unusual, non-intelligent creatures from across the continent.

Appearance

Janske is a male halfling in his 50s with short brown hair. He dresses well, befitting a man of his means.

Personality

Janske acts in a manner akin to that of a sleazy vehicle salesman. He talks up the quality and rarity of the creatures he offers and is more concerned with the story and profit he could get out of them, than taking care of their well-being. He hasn't been shown any regard for the creature's he is selling, but is careful not to put his customers in danger, making much of his money from return customers.

Biography

Current

The group first met Janske in Skalenvru, while preparing to attend the auction. At the time, he was providing accommodation for Khert Drazhen Novosel, at his manor. The Khert was a regular customer of Janske's who was there, in part, to purchase a Winged Lion from him.

In his first meeting with the group, it became clear that he had, in fact had a prior working relation ship with Omar Sharif, who he had last seen when the latter procured an Owlbear egg for him. During this first meeting, he offered the group a job, involving the acquisition of a Roc egg from the mountains surrounding the Valley of Giants. This offer was declined, but he told them to think on it, though he warned them that another party, consisting of members of the Stormstrike Clan was already interested.

He was next seen during the auction, where he fled to avoid the fighting. Following the auction, Shiek visited him to talk about the Roc job, only to discover that the halfling had come into the possession of a Displacer Beast. He purchased it from him for 7000gp and proceeded to bond with it over the course of the next few days.

After discovering the true nature of the Roc, Janske was after, from the Stormstrike Clan, the party accepted his job offer.

Once in Velidol, Janske was seen in the ruins of his airship, which had been obliterated by the Violet Phoenix. The party revealed to him his mistake about the identity of the Roc, but he was undeterred, offering them even more money to capture the phoenix - an offer that the group rejected.
