The group looked at their enemies. The armoured man on the side held a sword and a glass sphere of violet flame and next to him was the Warforged Colossus, who bore a huge Temerian great sword. As Milivoj threw a javelin at the Violet Schemer, it only took the smallest damage and dispersed the rest to the Flamgeists it had summoned. Once people got a closer look, they could tell the person was a Ikovalian Human man in their late 30s, dressed in rugged clothes but clad in jewelry. When Milivoj killed him, the man fall on the group and went to shout something, as a gem on one of his ring shattered.

As Valeyo killed the phoenix, it exploded and left a mote of violet flame, which flew towards the glass sphere in the paladin's hand and was absorbed. At the end of the fight, the Paladin was the final one left standing. Cassini hit him with a hypnotic pattern which incapacitated him allowing Milivoj to seize the orb. The Paladin was then tied up/barreled.
