Faced with this eating centipede monster, the group came up with a plan. Sapphira would cast a split second Silence on it, enough to cover the sound of Valeyo using Programmed Illusion. He created the illusion of a yeti up the mountain, which roared and took off. This managed to get the creature's attention and it climbed about 80ft up the mountainside. The group used this chance to try and sneak past. When it reached the place where it last saw the yeti, it began tearing the area up, tossing chunks of snow looking for its pray. The group managed to safely get past it using it.

With this they had got past the last of the challenged predicted from the Augury, so after a few minutes of travel, he cast another one. It told him of no direct danger ahead, besides the cold. Tucking their clothes tighter, the group continued. A while later, the sound of a distant rumble could be felt, coming from higher up the mountain. It lasted about a minute, before it disappeared. Cassini didn't think much of it, likely caused by something moving above.

The rumble was felt again, a couple of hour later, but ever so slightly louder than before. They were approaching whatever the cause was. After an our more, they felt too tired to continue, the combination of the cold and the thin air wearing them down faster than usual. Soon a dome was raised in a quiet place on the mountain side and everyone bedded down for the night. During the first watch, Shiek could see the lights of a city in the distant mountains on the other side of the valley - Moratop. Sapphira took watch after this and aside from another rumble the watch was quiet. Otto, however, was not so fortunate. Another rumble and a flash filed the night, coming from further down the mountain. Choosing to peer over the edge, in the far distance, he saw the silhouette of a multi legged blue lizard, which was chasing something. Lightning shot out from the creature's mouth as it chased the prey.

Final(?) Day of the Ascent

In the morning the group found the weather much changed. From inside the dome, it looked sunny and clear. This impression didn't last long, as soon as they left the dome, they were hit with extremely strong winds. Cassini's owl familiar struggled to fly in the weather, and their arrows would certainly be impeded, but otherwise it was better than the day prior. An Augury cast by Cassini revealed little more information, beside their being danger ahead and so they prepared to depart.

The day started with a climb, which was navigated more easily than those before, thanks to the goats. About two hours later another rumble washed over them. By this point, Cassini was sure that it was not natural as it had lasted the exact same time as the prior ones - a minute. With this in mind, they kept going up, the thin air taking a toll on them.

Almost an hour later, the group was in a snow covered plateau. Sapphira was taking lead, when she tread on a stone, that gave way under her feet as she disappeared from her party's sight. She plummeted down a caver chute before crashing down on a stone floor. The sound of breaking bones filled the room, as she fell onto someone's corpse. Around here was a stone room with columns lining the way. Along the walls, were the remains of many warforged, long inactive. At the far end however, was a much larger warforged, whose eyes glowed with Violet Flame. A second later, dragged by the rope tied between him and Sapphira, Valeyo was pulled into the hole and on top of Sapphira.

The warforged before them a great sword and twin flail in its hands. The sword was identical to the Temerian Greatsword that they had found embedded in the frozen waterfall the day prior. Shiek followed them down and the group prepared for a fight. The warforged began approaching and spinning up its two headed flair, causing a whistling sound. The group fought against it, with Milivoj soon knocking it down, causing it to lose control of the spinning flail, which flew into Otto, knocking him back. The creature then collapsed dead.

They now had time to look around the room. Otto found the stonework, interesting, resembling nothing else he had seen in the region. Milivoj collected the warforged's weapons and stored them in the back of holding. Near the hole that the group entered, was the remains of a colourful cloak, as well as a quiver, made of bark. A large iron door was at the back of the room, which was the only entrance to the room. Cassini cast detect magic and saw that both the quiver and the cloak, were magical, as was the door. From the door, he could trace magic pathways leading to the sconces on the wall.

Valeyo checked on the other dead warforged littered around the room and found that they all had the word "Suryanvichi".  Otto shared his theory that this place could well have been made by the Temerians, as it was clearly old enough and resembled nothing he had seen before. The opened the heavy iron door which revealed a long corridor to the left and a room across from them. As they peered into the long corridor, they saw there was a plaque, next to the room they had come from and the one across. It was in Temerian, but with comprehend languages, Cassini could tell they both said "Resting room". There was another line connecting the lights to the next room, but neither seemed to trigger the lights when approached. Further down the long hall way, there were two rooms, one either side. The one of the left was labeled Resting Room and the other Power Facility. Assuming this would be the way to turn on the lights, the group pushed the door to the room open. Inside was a large metal contraption labeled "Starfall Engine". Bellow it said "If out of Starfall alloy, use Sky Stone in emergency.". Valeyo was fascinated by the discovery, saying this knowledge of using the Sky Stone for power would be revolutionary. Shiek asked how big this Temerian Empire was and Valeyo told him a little of it, but insisted that this is not a discovery of theirs that anyone had heard of. He posited that it was probably made by a splinter group that arrived Ikoval, as if the ones on Velinde had known, they wouldn't have fallen. They decided to keep the engine off, and look around for some of the Starfall alloy around.

The next room as over 50ft down on the left, but the ceiling over the door had collapsed and it was blocked by rubble. The plaque next to it read "Hanger" which none of the group recognized. Cassini, taking the form of a spider, crawled through the rubble and on the other side found a square stone room with a vehicle in the middle, resembling a much smaller version of the sky ships he had seen before. He reported it back to the group which Valeyo found remarkable. He posited that this could be the greatest historical discovery of the century if this is all true.

The next two doors further down said "Lift to the peak", the other said "Project Starfall". Otto suggested that Project Starfall could be where this Starfall Alloy is stored or created. Shiek opened the door to reveal the largest room, the group had seen yet. They found themselves on a walkway faced with the head of an enormous warforged. Its head was a dozen feet tall and the body over a hundred as it continued much deeper down. Shiek was speechless and simply gestured for the others to enter. None of them knew what to say. Shiek shone a his lantern on it and Otto realized that his thing was made from the same metal he had seen parts of in the generator, the entire thing was Starfall. Otto and Valeyo headed to bottom to look for any stray pieces from the Starfall alloy, but came up short. What they did see however, is a doorway on the back of the warforged's heel.

They felt relieved seeing this, as it meant it was not a creature but rather a vehicle and could not be possessed by the flame. Deciding that this construction would likely use a Starfall generator and so they could find fuel there. With that they opened the door and Sapphira began climbing the ladder inside.
